"Leaves are inspiration for me. Fan palms, especially, are inherent in design and a major force in the creation of many of my abstract pieces."
-Terry Taube
One of the most predominant elements in Terry Taube's artwork is the leaf. Calling it "leafography," the artist effectively recreates the leaf in all its splendor. With Hawaii as his outdoor studio, Taube has his choice of some of the most interesting leaves in the world. His paper castings utilize individual leaves, each unique in its characteristics. That enables him to capture the leaf's natural elements and fixate it in his artwork. Alone, a leaf majestically adorns a wall. Together with other leaves, it creates a bouquet of textures and colors. And in some of his sculptures, the leaf is the design that creates an entirely different image.
